Death by Funhouse

A three-year-old on the telephone said,

‘I’ve ordered my Big Brother pizza, let us

Kneel in the doorway and wait for pizza.’

A three-year-old on the telephone said,

‘I’ve ordered my Big Brother pizza, let us

Kneel in the doorway and wait for pizza.’

We slaughtered 3600 pigs today,

Then punched-out for an afterwork party,

Before we punched-in again.  Horey!

I’m hungry for some bread, give me $20.

I’m hungry for some butter, give me $20.

I’m hungry for something I’ll never know.

All the while we sing, dance and laugh,

Only in dreams, I’m hungry give me $20.

But we do not know what we are, I say.

And a man with a machine-gun swings-in

From stage left, to spread Christmas joy,

From man to man, then boy to boy, a toy.

For there are realms of sorrow today

And tomorrow; and only in death will

Our cold bodies know what’s best for us.
